Pauline Sloan

Pauline (Bush) Sloan was born on June 7, 1948, in Longview, Texas, to the late Mary Lou Nelson Turner and Paul Bush. She peacefully transitioned from this life, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and cherished memories.

Pauline received her education in the Longview Independent School District and proudly graduated from Longview Negro High School. At an early age, she attended the Church of Christ before later relocating to Dallas, Texas, where she built a life rooted in hard work, faith, and family.

She was united in marriage to the late Henry Sloan. Pauline dedicated many years of service to Dallas Memorial Hospital, where she faithfully cared for others with the same warmth and compassion she extended to everyone she met.

Above all, Pauline treasured her family and friends. Whether gathered around a table sharing stories or simply enjoying each other's company, she found her greatest happiness in the relationships she nurtured throughout her life. Her gentle spirit, caring heart, and unwavering love for those around her will forever be remembered.

Pauline was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mary Lou (Nelson) Turner and Paul Bush; her sisters, Mary Alice Allen, Dorothy Ann Garrett, Mary Ann (Daniels) Wallace, Idabelle Turner, and Isabelle Turner; and her brothers, Louis Edward Turner, Carl Lee Nickerson, and Michael Wayne Nickerson.

Left to cherish her precious memory are two young ladies whom she lovingly helped raise, Citelle and Jean, both of Dallas, Texas; her sister, Carnell Nickerson of Rhone, Texas (town name to be verified); her brothers, James Bush (Nina) of Longview, Texas, Frenchell Nickerson (Linda) of Longview, Texas, and Wilbert Lee Thomas of Longview, Texas; her devoted companion, Mark Anthony; her dear friend, Lucy McClenon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever treasure the love and kindness she shared.

Though Pauline's earthly journey has ended, the love she gave so freely and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
