Georgia L. Sheffield

A beautiful life, defined by love, laughter, unwavering faith, and selfless service, came to a peaceful close on July 9, 2026, when Georgia Lee Sheffield entered into eternal rest. While our hearts mourn her passing, we find comfort in knowing she is now resting safely in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior.

Georgia was born on June 17, 1951, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to the late Willie and Reid Sheffield. She received her education in the Wichita Falls Independent School District before relocating to Longview, Texas, in 1991, where she established deep roots and became known and loved throughout her community.

To know Georgia was to know joy, She possessed an infectious laugh, a vibrant spirit, and a personality that could brighten any room she entered. She was truly the life of the party, bringing laughter, warmth, and unforgettable memories to family gatherings and celebrations alike. Georgia never met a stranger and had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcomed and loved.

She was known for her honesty and straightforward nature. Georgia believed in telling the truth with love and never hesitated to speak her mind. Her bluntness was always balanced by compassion, sincerity, and an enormous heart.

Serving others was not simply something Georgia enjoyed, it was her life's calling. Caring for children was her greatest passion. She owned and operated a childcare center for many years, lovingly nurturing countless children until her retirement. To many families, she became more than a caregiver; she became a trusted mentor, a second mother, and a cherished friend.

Georgia's generosity knew no limits. She constantly put the needs of others before her own and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether through a warm meal, a comforting conversation, or simply opening her heart and home, she demonstrated Christ-like love every day of her life.

Her greatest joy was her family. She loved fiercely, protected wholeheartedly, and celebrated every milestone with those she loved most.

Georgia accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at Parkview Baptist Church, where she faithfully began her walk with Christ. Her faith remained the foundation of her life and sustained her through every season.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Willie and Reid Sheffield; her brothers, Ben Sheffield, Rudolph Sheffield, Ray Sheffield, and Leo Sheffield; her sisters, Jessie Sheffield and Wanda King; and her beloved daughter, Tashai Sheffield.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her devoted life partner, Rudy Fogle of Henderson, Texas; one daughter, Kay Sheffield of Forney, Texas; two sons, Jimmy Sheffield (Michelle) of Venus, Texas, and Entonyo Jones of Dallas, Texas.

She also leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren: Shadow Hill of Henderson, Texas; Briunna Sheffield of Forney, Texas; Allena Sheffield of Arlington, Texas; Dominique Sheffield, Detric Sheffield, and Keithan Garland, all of Longview, Texas; and Jaydon Sheffield of Arlington, Texas.

She is also survived by her loving niece, Jennifer Dixon; great-nephew, Broderick Sheffield; great-niece, Erica Blanton (Enoch) of Longview, Texas; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever touched by her kindness and love.

Her legacy continues through 20 treasured great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to her life and whom she loved beyond measure.

Georgia's greatest legacy is not found in the years she lived, but in the lives she changed. Her love knew no limits, her laughter filled every room, and her servant's heart leaves an imprint that time can never erase. Though she is absent from our sight, she will forever remain present in our hearts.
