Debra Conner-Nelson Obituary

Debra Conner-Nelson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away at her home on June 21, 2026, surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her life.

Born on January 9, 1955, in Alexandria, Louisiana, Debra was the cherished daughter of Frederick and Katherine Conner. As the daughter of an Air Force serviceman, she had the unique opportunity to travel the world throughout her childhood, creating memories and experiences that shaped her adventurous spirit. She proudly graduated from Lajes High School in Portugal in 1973, where she formed a lifelong friendship with her dear friend, Posey.

Debra lived a life defined by compassion, kindness, and unwavering love. She was a steady source of strength and encouragement to everyone blessed to know her. For 36 beautiful years, she shared a devoted marriage with the love of her life, Steven Nelson. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and unwavering commitment while raising their daughter, Katherine, who will forever treasure her mother's unconditional love, guidance, and support.

Children held a special place in Debra's heart. She had an extraordinary gift for making every child feel loved, valued, and cared for, often embracing them as if they were her own. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and nurturing heart left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. To know Debra was to experience genuine kindness and unconditional love.

Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her devoted husband, Steven Nelson; her loving daughter, Katherine Foster (Austin); her two beloved grandsons, Westin and Logan Foster; her honorary granddaughter, Madison Norman; her sister, Linda Conner; her nephews, Charlie Albritton and Collen Ramsdell, along with Collen's daughters, Trinity and Triniti; her nieces, Sunny and Ashley; and a host of extended family members and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by her love.

Debra was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Frederick and Katherine Conner; her brothers, Robert, Mike, and Donald Conner; and her nephew, Scott.

Though our hearts grieve her absence, we find comfort in knowing that the love Debra shared, the lives she nurtured, and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her beautiful spirit will forever remain a guiding light to her family and friends.
