Barbara Joyce (Fyffe) Monk

Barbara J. Monk, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Christus Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview, Texas.

Barbara was born on February 26, 1956, in Longview, Texas, to Joe Fyffe and Joyce Holmes. She was also lovingly raised by her stepfather, Lonnie Holmes. She shared a special bond with her siblings, Larry Fyffe, Danny Fyffe, Robin Holmes, and her sister, Leezonya Elia.

Barbara will be remembered for her generous heart, caring spirit, and the joy she found in life's simple treasures. She had a passion for garage sales and possessed a remarkable gift for turning what others overlooked into something meaningful. To Barbara, every item had potential and every treasure had a story. Her dream was to one day open a small resale shop, a reflection of both her entrepreneurial spirit and her love for finding beauty in the unexpected.

Above all, Barbara treasured her family. She found her greatest happiness in spending time with those she loved and creating memories that will forever be cherished.

Left to honor and cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Jennifer Parsons (Keith) of Longview, Texas; her son, Rodney Monk (Solecha) of Longview, Texas; significant other, Earl Phillips of Longview, Texas, her stepchildren, Christina Torres of Fort Stockton, Texas, Bonnie Flores of Live Oak, Florida, and Guy Fortescue of Live Oak, Florida.

She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Ariel, Gabe, Jundi, Jalal, Alinah, Gabriel, Marco, PJ, Gabi, Dustin, Selina, Jasmine, and Christain, along with ten precious great-grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy to her life.

Barbara's kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she may no longer walk beside us, the beautiful memories she created and the love she shared will remain treasured forever.
